Our journey of excellence and international recognition
Invitation to ExpoSpice Launch
As part of our engagement with the Open University of Sri Lanka, 3iTeam International was invited to the official opening of the project — not just as the vendor who built the system, but as a partner to present the solution to the audience.
During the event, our team delivered a presentation and a brief speech explaining:
- the problem the university was trying to solve,
- how we architected the solution to fit their operations,
- and how a Sri Lankan software company can deliver enterprise-level, future-ready systems for national institutions.
"Being invited to the launch was important to us because it showed the university's confidence in our work and in our ability to represent the technology to their stakeholders."

Listed on the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB)
3iTeam International was officially featured by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) as a Sri Lankan IT/Software service provider capable of serving international markets. Being added to the EDB platform is more than a directory listing — it's the government's way of saying, "this company is export-ready."
For us, this recognition matters because:
- it validates our track record of working with clients in the UK, US, Canada, Maldives, Papua New Guinea and Germany,
- it gives foreign buyers and development partners an official place to find us,
- and it strengthens our positioning as a Sri Lankan company that builds locally but delivers globally.
"Being listed on the EDB platform is the government's endorsement that we are export-ready and capable of serving international markets."

"MyGlukose" – Commonwealth Digital Health Awards Nomination
One of the products we engineered, MyGlukose – a mobile-based diabetes prevention and monitoring solution – was nominated for the Commonwealth Digital Health Awards. This project was special because it wasn't just another app; it was built to help real people manage a long-term condition, with Sri Lankan medical context, and to show that digital health can be done locally at a high standard.
The nomination recognized three things about our work:
- Clinical relevance – it addressed a real public-health problem in our region.
- Technical quality – secure data handling, mobile-first, and designed to be extendable.
- Innovation from Sri Lanka – it proved that a Colombo-based team can build health tech that stands on a Commonwealth stage.
"For 3iTeam International, MyGlukose became an early benchmark: if we can build healthcare products to award level, we can apply the same discipline to government systems, marketplaces, and enterprise apps."
"MyGlukose" - Good Market Approved Vendor
In 2017, MyGlukose was also accepted as a Good Market approved vendor. Good Market is a Sri Lankan platform and physical marketplace that curates responsible, trustworthy, and impact-focused products and brands. Getting listed there isn't automatic — they review what you offer and whether it genuinely helps people.
For us, this approval was meaningful because it showed that MyGlukose wasn't only a technically solid health app, but also aligned with community value, wellness, and ethical standards in Sri Lanka. It positioned the product alongside other trusted local brands and gave it visibility beyond the tech space, to people who actually care about healthier living.
"Good Market approval showed that MyGlukose aligned with community values and ethical standards, reaching beyond the tech space to people who care about healthier living."

Microsoft BizSpark (now "Microsoft for Startups")
Back when we operated as The Ace Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, we were selected to join Microsoft BizSpark — Microsoft's startup support program at the time (now called Microsoft for Startups). It was Microsoft's way of recognising that our company was building real products and had the potential to grow.
Being in BizSpark gave us:
- access to licensed Microsoft tools and platforms,
- guidance on building production-grade solutions,
- and the credibility of being part of a global startup ecosystem.
"For a young Sri Lankan software company, that validation mattered. It helped us standardize our engineering, win better local projects, and eventually evolve into 3iTeam International with the confidence to serve overseas markets."
EU-Sri Lanka Trade Program
In 2017, 3iTeam International was selected as one of the Sri Lankan IT companies to take part in a government-backed initiative to explore the UK and European technology markets. Through this program — conducted together with the Sri Lankan Government and its export/trade partners — our team received structured training on entering the UK/EU market, export readiness, and presenting Sri Lankan software capabilities to international buyers.
As part of the initiative, we joined an official business delegation to the United Kingdom, where we met potential partners, showcased our work in healthcare, marketplaces, and web/mobile platforms, and learned first-hand the quality, compliance, and communication expectations of UK and European clients.
"This recognition matters to us because it validated something we believed from the beginning: a Colombo-based engineering team can compete — and collaborate — on international projects when given the right platform."

MIT Global Startup Labs – 2nd Place (Sri Lanka, 2014)
Before 3iTeam International existed — even before the Ace Technologies phase — our founder took part in MIT Global Startup Labs 2014 – Sri Lanka and won 2nd place with a product called "Eagle Eye". The program was conducted by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). It was a surveillance solution designed with real commercial and IP potential, and it was strong enough that the MIT/Google trainers recognized it as a product that could lead to two patents.
This was an important milestone because:
- it brought direct recognition from MIT and exposure to Google-linked mentors,
- it proved that a Sri Lankan-built tech product could stand in front of an international judging panel,
- and it became the starting point of the entrepreneurship journey that later evolved into Ace Technologies (Pvt) Ltd and eventually 3iTeam International.
"Eagle Eye is where the mindset started: build original solutions, aim for global standards, and don't be afraid to productize what you invent."
